A luscious, American epic that is ultimately an examination of an artists purpose and the immigrant experiences/struggles that fueled his creations. Corbet almost had the perfect combination for a true masterpiece here, but the jump and execution of the epilogue wasn’t smooth enough in my humble first watch opinion.

After watching it you just have the feeling that you watched a rich, beautiful film. That’s what it’s all about, man.

Nobody does slick, stylish, and sexy like Soderbergh! David Koepp’s excellent screenplay is a highlight as well.

Gene Hackman plays a southern beef tycoon named Mary Ann.

A little too thin in some areas, but this is a film I could watch frequently while cracking a couple a beers. It’s shot better than most films coming out today.

    Lee Marvin!!!!!

What a feckin' film. This is one of the finest feckin' films I've seen all year long. It's so feckin' good, it'll make ya want to move to the motherland and raise a miniature donkey. Feckin' great time it is. Lot's of feckin' drama. Lot's of feckin' comedy. Many moments of feckin' hilarious moments as well as some feckin' downright feckin' downbeat ones. Feck.

Damien Chazelle’s epic of debauchery amidst the start of the Hollywood system is his most ambitious film to date. This bombastic and in your face depiction of the 1920’s is the biggest gut punch to your preconceived notions as to how this era of society went about life. It really was this crazy and wild where drugs ran rampant and the parties were unhinged at an unsettling level. Babylon feels like a demented cousin of La La Land in a…
