I'm actually embarrassed that I've just now watched this film. You know a film has done a good job when it makes you ponder its subject matter, and this one has done the best job of any movie I've seen in years. Everything about it, from the perfect casting to the nuanced and compelling background score to the incredible visuals, transports you to another world. I don’t know why, but I just didn’t get this movie at all. After half an hour, I just got really bored. Like I just didn’t felt interested in the story or anything about the visual execution. I’ll definitely have to rewatch this movie again, but it fascinates me to see how I’ve never been this bored by a movie in a my life, even beating Waterworld.

My review of this movie will be way too long, so I'll keep it simple. Cinema has only two periods: before The Godfather released, and after The Godfather released.

I saw this before the worldwide release, and I felt like a mixed bag. With VFX and production design at the level of Dune and Star Wars, along with incredible exposition, the length is the film's biggest impediment. Trust me, it ain't bad, but its nearly three-hour runtime makes it drag on too much. It's worth watching in theaters, but I doubt this will be the comeback Prabhas needs.
