Wow even though the movie is 3 hours long couldn’t stop watching. Very tense and made me feel a little sick. The film looks like a play, and uses minimal decor and props. This adds to the strong sense of intimacy this film creates. Most of the characters talk with a soft voice, almost whispering. At any time you can see mostly everything (depending on the camera angle), since the buildings in dogville don’t actually have walls.

To me this film was about freedom and solitude. How far do you go before it’s not worth it anymore?
The whole film had a wonderful warm and dreamy feeling about it.
The acting by both lead actors was well amazing and I liked the dialogue. Score that fits the atmosphere and beautiful shots of the american wastelands.
My favourite scene was the one where Kit and Holly were staying in the treehouse they’d build in the forest.
