  While the show that Derek DelGaudio puts on is ambitious and entirely unique, I found the end result to be a mixed bag. The combination of the performative element of a magic show (which is inherently insincere) and the depth of a therapy session (which can only work if it’s entirely sincere) often comes off as murky and awkward, and as a result, DelGaudio consistently gets in his own way as a performer.
