I hate space/sci-fi movies so much. The visuals, sound effects, and practical effects in this though? Absolutely turned me into a fan quickly. The story is a bit lackluster & does get rusty/cluttered/overly complex in the third act, but I would 1000% watch this again for the vibes. I loved it and I get it.

A great riveting story & absolutely beautifully shot, but… we needed this story to be unearthed in 2024 for what? There is so much missing context from this situation that it makes my stomach sick. Sure, the insane Palestinians randomly decided to take Israeli hostages because they’re barbaric Muslims! Definitely not because internment camps of thousands of Palestinians were being kept by Israel’s government. Obviously the story needed a lot more nuance and deserved to be told at a different time. Just feels like adding to the obvious media bias against Muslims and Palestinians.
