Love Lies Bleeding 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
WEIRD MOVIE. I went in knowing nothing and I recommend you do the same. Without giving away any story elements- the vibe and tone of this movie surreal and heightened but not in your face like Eraserhead, think more Enemy. The strange and surreal aspects of this film paired with visceral audio design create a tense, gross, and hot experience. While not highly stylized, the lighting and cinematography present neon insanity one minute and a sweaty yellow glow the next.
The performances are top notch. The story is wild and original. The soundtrack and score push the whole thing over the edge to 5/5 for me.

A quintessential action movie. Way ahead of its time. Al Pachino is pretty much a caricature of himself and it’s great. Only criticism is Danny Trejos character is underutilized especially as being apart of the main team. He gets the least screen time of the 4 and for as long of a movie as it was, I feel this was a mistake.
