A Real Pain 2024
Introspection is hard, and this shows it doesn't matter who you are- nobody finds it easy.
I love how quick everyone in the group is to affirm everything they say to each other, but the constant battle for David to affirm himself carries on because he's never going to hear himself say those words.
The speech he gives at the dinner table is fabulous, and Kieran Culkin gives a sensational round-trip. 90 minutes and out, good ride.

It's good, but it's not quite Carling- I mean Herzog.
Again, Robert Eggers delivers gorgeous imagery, which is undeniably supreme. I've never seen moonlit shots look as good and well-captured as in this film, it's a real marvel. And some of the frames in it are gorgeous, particularly the final shot, which is a beautiful horror.
