Ok yes beautiful movie objectively and fantastic compositions…but like the guy rlly just made a reinterpretation of Chungking express. Am I missing something? Literally a year apart too. The following is a list of recurrent themes or occurrences between the two movies:

Wong-kar has such a beautifully recognizable feel to his compositions and color use. His ability to romanticize the mundanity of our increasingly busy and commodified lives gives me some weird kind of satisfaction in the inevitable despair that awaits us all. Legitimately a life changing movie. It has made me a far more reflective person.
