De Niro plays a convincing psychopath. The southern accent put me off at first, but he won me over when he confronts the lawyer from the car. He was charismatic, and creepy at the same time.
The movie has some interesting shots, I'm not going to pretend I know about that sort of stuff, but I liked the chaos created by mixing in lots of close ups during the tense moments.
Would watch it again next time I'm traveling strapped to the bottom of my friends car.
It is better to have loved and lost, then to never have loved at all.
Spoiler alert
The last scene of the movie is intense. Joel is playing a tape of all the terrible shit he thinks about Clementine at the end of the relationship and she's deciding wether to go on a date with them. It's great they decide to try it all again. We got to enjoy the process and not just the outcome.
Besides that I always knew Elijah Wood was a creep.
What an amazing doc! Very few documentaries have a happy ending and this one is so joyful.
Spoiler alert:
His songs reached a whole world and he didn't even know. Id love a more thorough interview with Rodriguez, he seems like a neat dude.
