Wicked 2024
I saw this having not seen the stage show and near singularly because I’m an Ariana Stande (the cult of the celebrity is strong in my heart). It’s brilliant as a musical adapted for screen - cinematic throughout, giving the songs space to shine (and they do! They really do). As an actual movie and story I liked it without being crazy for it, and I think it has some flaws in that sense. But I think you’d be hard-pressed…
