Wicked 2024
I saw this having not seen the stage show and near singularly because I’m an Ariana Stande (the cult of the celebrity is strong in my heart). It’s brilliant as a musical adapted for screen - cinematic throughout, giving the songs space to shine (and they do! They really do). I saw this at Cinema City last night for £3 as part of Picturehouse’s day of £3 tickets - I’d never seen it before and it’s only ever appealed to me on the basis that many people I love and respect value it so highly (as most people do!).
