Dull and unimaginative. Not a single turning point. Psychologically and mythologically shallow. A drag of a climax. A few hours before watching this film I had a dentist appointment in which I had much more excitement and insight into life.

Paterson 2016
Jarmusch has always been talking about poetry: Dead Man; Walt Whitman in Down by Law; Elvis Presley and his songs; the musical sounds of people talking to each other, to the moon, to the radio and themselves. His very silence in transitions are like the silences between the stanzas of a poem. But here's a great ode to art and poetry, in which Adam Driver is a driver named Paterson in the city of Paterson, and he writes poetry and follows the way of language, slowly unfolding into a poem and a film. I'm happy that I watched this.
