  Film adaptations that use (mostly) unaltered scripts from their stage counterparts are always at a bit of a disadvantage. The flamboyant gestures, big emotions, and lengthy monologues that are critical to reaching an audience in a live-setting may come off as melodramatic in the far more intimate medium of film. Due to the naturalistic setting of this particular production (I believe it was actually filmed on location in nature), this observation will likely be unavoidable to most. The camera work…
