Quick little tip: If you make the concious choice to churn out a high-style low-substance kiddy flick that purports to be some strait-laced coming of age story,
at least have the goddamn common sense of not having the most vacuous third-grade shoal of trite, archetypal effluent this side of motherfuckin' Sharknado constitute the cast of characters.Especially if your plotline is so needlessly convoluted that conjuring up an ensemble of strong characters to convey the visceral coming-of-age undercurrent you attempt to cultivate is absolutely necessary.
But for one reason or another, this movie doesn't even bother.
