  I wonder, if it were to be remade today, who will be the pod people. Are they anti vaxers? Trump supporters? Liberals? I think there's something so sinister in how to 70's paranoia is now in all of us, deep down. Who of your friends is actually a republican? Or not as liberal as he claims? Are my neighbors my allies or enemies? Is she one of us or one of them?

  Alright. Here's a very long, very unnecessary over thought out critique of the film. Surface level it feels like a very feminist film. It's the liberation story of Bella, how she unshackles herself from her fathers grip, how she wanders through the world and learns about it and about herself.
