  I turned it off after 45 minutes. No character depth, garbage audio editing, and each song was worse than the previous. I genuinely don’t know how this could even qualify for an Oscar nomination.

  Absolute chaos entirely. I wasn’t sure what to expect the first time I saw it and I was still baffled rewatching. It’s a bit of a lengthy story but I was captivated the entire time. This is a much heavier telling of the transition to sound films than Singin in the Rain. Each character is phenomenal and the editing is perfectly timed as to not overwhelm or lose anybody. The film itself is a drug, capable of causing nostalgia of a near-death experience while embracing the craziness that ensues.
