instant classic for me. sometimes i feel like nothing can capture the sheer awe and terror of the natural world quite like animation because there’s a fantastic edge in the scale here that more acutely replicates the feeling of smallness & raw fragility when you’re at the base of a mountain or out in the open ocean. like an incomprehensible kind of vulnerability. it’s a motley crew survival film but it’s also a left behind at the end of the world film and i am just personally so sensi about that.
