This is that one movie where Lee Cobb’s character is surly

What can one say?  A perfect movie.

Seen at the first of two showings at the Seattle International Film Festival to a packed house. EVERYONE should get the opportunity to see this movie, especially on the big screen. Writer / Director Tracie Laymon richly deserved the standing ovation for creating and telling this story.
Barbie Ferreira is phenomenal. I truly loved her performance. Co-stars John Leguizamo and French Stewart leave no viewer neutral in how we feel about them. 
This is paced so well. It is a delight to watch as well as nourishing to ingest. I’m not sure I can explain that last part but I certainly felt it.

Still trying to decide if I liked this. Some characters are lingering in my head as I’m puzzled by their choices. Just like real life.
