i literally can't believe deero and crana ended up being a deer and a crane, respectively. i was caught completely off-guard. and i ironically can't believe the hegemonic divine power that labels other people as monsters would use that as pretense for life-sustaining mass extermination. thank goodness this is a children's fantasy movie and not real life.

the props, sets, and costumes build an incredible surrealism that is primed by american subconscious that allows for seemingly effortless comedy and incredible violence without so much a second thought from the audience. loved the cartoonish bombs hazel made, the classroom's layouts, how the football players never took off their gear/uniforms, marshawn lynch, etc.
