Lot of comparisons to Anora, but it’s not like that. Anora is the comic, cynical take on the prostitute with a heart of gold myth. Here, two outcasts find each other. It happens fast and seems little justified by the plot. You just have to believe it’s possible.
Somewhat similar in spirit to German’s Khrustalyov, My Car!
A Soviet-Georgian timpanist with ADHD takes a tour of the arts and meets a lot of women. He could have just as easily lived happily ever after but no!
Appreciated the poetic visuals and comic interludes of Ivan Peric. Thought the essayistic musings on fascism were static and overwrought. If one is so concerned about the question, “how many of my neighbors are Nazis,” doesn’t it make sense to interview some of your neighbors and not just, say, give a tour of fascist graffiti in Split? Zero respect for fascist ideologies whether Ustaša or Banderist, but it’s important to understand the reasons that people are attracted to these ideologies from within their respective societies.
