The Cabin in the Woods 2011
This movie takes the familiar horror movie tropes of a secluded cabin in the woods & the cliched assortment of young people on a road trip and turns it on its head. From the opening of the movie we are introduced to a set up that is already unconventional, from there the movie keeps unraveling new layers, all the while serving up some trademark dialogue and humor from producer/co-writer Joss Whedon. As the scares and body count rises & the story further…

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 1981
The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, a Radio Play/Book/LP/Stage Show and then a TV Series, and apparently in the future, a Movie as well, but that's getting ahead of things here. The story setup here runs along the same lines as Douglas Adams' previous, classic incarnations. Hamlet 2009
A fantastic stage version of Hamlet, with a modernized twist, but maintaining the excellent story that made the original play a classic. This version stars the always amazing David Tennant in the title role as Hamlet, and he does a great job, showing that he is more than an excellent Doctor. Also on board is the great Patrick Stewart, in a dual role as Claudius, Hamlet's uncle, and the Ghost of Hamlet's father. Although some of the other actors aren't quite on par with Tennant and Stewart, it is still well worth checking out. - Hamlet's Soliloquy (David Tennant): youtu.be/xYZHb2xo0OI .

The Fly 1986
One of my favorite Cronenberg movies, filled with his trademark body horror moments, as well as the fascinating deeper meanings beyond the surface horror story. The movie really showcases Jeff Goldblum at his best, eccentric and manic and undeniably brave in his acting choices. Also Cronenbergs story is fantastic, delving into the very human fear of death and the decay of the human body over time, whether it be from old age or a sickness. Also amazingly realized is the…
