Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992
I was absolutely captivated by this movie. David lynch uses a very particular style - it’s like a mesh between soap opera and film noir but also has a very surrealist element. I found it very aesthetically pleasing which is in huge contrast to the intense psychological horror aspect of the storyline. The plot is heartbreaking but I was invested from the start and my heart was racing during the last ten minutes. I loved every second. Honestly, this film is a masterpiece.

The Brutalist 2024
This is one of those movies that made me go “what the fuck” and not in a good way. The director made some interesting storytelling choices in the second half of the film that ruined the entire movie for me but the music score and cinematography were excellent. Overall, a very pretentious film bro movie in which the director conflates the suppression of artistic freedom with disturbing depictions of sexual assault. Major trigger warning for SA survivors going to see this.
Also, is “heroin fixes your relationship problems” the message of this movie? What the fuck.

A very quirky love story. Both of the leads are compelling on their own but together they are magic. This is one of those films that you get to see the exact moment someone falls in love with another person and the way it’s shown is beautiful. Loved it.
