Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In 2024
The best action movie from China that I’ve seen in a grip, free of the toxic nationalism that poisons so much of the country’s output anymore, but the storytelling is no great shakes and it feels fifteen minutes too long. It looks great and its recreation of Kowloon is really cool. If you want to see the real shit, try the excellent Long Arm of the Law, which was actually shot there and is a much better film.
