I really enjoyed this film! I mainly watched it because of Colson Baker (aka MGK) because I’ve recently started to really love his music and wanted to see him act as well and I don’t know why people say he can’t act because he was phenomenal in this movie and carried it the entire way being the main character with limited space to work with being on a bus the entire film. The emotion was raw and definitely real. While…
I’m giving this two stars simply for Lucy Hales acting alone. The entire movie moved way to slow for my tastes. It was a quiet thriller set in the desert with a cast of about 2-4 people. It just fell flat for me. I loved the storyline and this could have been a great little movie had it had more substance and detail and really made you root for the characters, instead you were tossed into the story midway and had to grasp to feel anything for any of the characters. There were some beautiful cinematography shots though.
I was so excited when the trailer for this movie dropped and it did not disappoint. It’s a great film with an ensemble cast. Charlie Hunnam was the main reason I wanted to see this but I did really like the storyline of Mickey wanting to leave the business but not being able to do so easily. 10/10 in my book. Charlie played the role of a neurotic British consigliere perfectly.
I’m a sucker for Channing Tatum and dog films so this was a must watch for me. It was a cute yet sentimental movie. It showed a little bit about what combat dogs endure and how even they return home with PTSD from war and have to readjust to normal life. I was a little disappointed this wasn’t funnier then it was, but still very enjoyable to watch even if it was a bit sad and heavy at times. I did cry a little at the end much like I do during all dog movies. Definitely worth a watch!
