Eyes Wide Shut 1999
Sensational in every way. The Christmas setting, the subdued colours, warm interiors, even the messy kitchens work.
It’s an entrancing experience that deconstructs the marital status and thrusts a once secure man into a world of untapped realities. Lust, prostitution, trafficking, elitist exploitation. All seen in one night, all with a resounding reminder that humans love and connect, but when we’re stripped down, we’re all animals. The Shawshank Redemption 1994

The Dark Knight 2008
A technical masterclass, a genre-defining epic, and a film that will transcend any and every criticism that comic book movies are not cinema. It is storytelling at its finest, firmly cemented by a flawless antagonist, superb crime noir drama, and jaw-dropping cinematography. Undeniably one of the first movies that made me fall in love with movies - simply put, a cinematic masterpiece.
