Tom Hanks delivers here, and his kid was not whiney at all which made him bearable (especially considering the circumstances…).
The Irish Catholic overtones throughout were a nice touch.
I find Jude Law captivating every time he is on screen. He shows up in everything he is in. I believe he just has “it.” My favorite scene is when he is in the diner with Sullivan:
“I’m something of a rarity…”
A friend of mine is currently watching this and our conversation reminded me to log it.
Al Pacino arguably gives the best acting performance ever in this.
Factoring in everything else, this is the best movie ever made.
Brick is a completely useless character. Everyone else is funny at parts. Vince Vaughn’s character may be the funniest one when you factor in his limited screen time.
