Overall, this was a mess.
The metaphors Coppola tries to make on human nature and progress just sound like the drunken rambles of someone who memorised a bit too many philosophy quotes, without looking at them further. The plot is inconsistent, with subplots that are never truly developed or concluded. Halfway through the film, I thought, okay, maybe the characters will save this. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The characters felt bland and did not really progress whatsoever (specially Caesar).…
