i love this movie so much man it just gets better everytime i watch it and the fact i got to watch it at the cinemas instead of on my dinky macbook air ON MY BIRTHDAY was an absolutely incredible experience hopefully i can watch it one more time on the big screen before it stops screening

Days of Being Wild 1990
i was quite shocked at just how dreary this movie felt. wong kar-wai's other films obviously have this feeling of deep longing and dejection however in saying that there's still that glimmer of hope or a moment to look back on and feel warmth but this movie just felt like one of those bad dreams that really sticks with you for a while. One person longs for something or someone then another longs for them and it just feels like this ouroboros of love, frustration, sadness or for lack of a better term, pure emotion. the rain feels heavier than usual in this one.
