Monumental in every sense of the word. An absolute juggernaut of a film. A triumphant and sprawling epic, reminiscent of an era of filmmaking long forgotten. We live in an age where films like this don’t get made anymore.

This is a sweeping examination of the American Dream. Highlighting both America’s greatness and its deep-rooted flaws all through the eyes of an immigrant. An impactful story on a personal level. Astonishing cinematography full of stunning visuals and a simplistic, yet…

Robert Egger’s ability to transport us back in time with such ease is unparalleled in filmmaking today. An immaculate attention to detail that showcases the love and care that went into this film. This is a nightmarish plunge into darkness. A seductively frightening and deliciously haunting treat. The dreamy atmosphere combined with the cold, eery set pieces make for such an incredibly immersive experience. Can we talk about how absolutely insane the cinematography is! Every frame is stunning, and the…

Built around the charm of Jack Quaid. This is a silly and surprisingly gruesome chaotic ride. Crafted with heart and a dash of romance, the comedy helps balance out the brutality you see on screen. A ridiculously good time at the theater and sometimes that’s all you can ask for.

DreamWorks Animation has really lapped Walt Disney Pictures Animation and it’s crazy to see. Full of vibrant colors and beautifully stylized animation. The characters are fun, and there’s plenty of solid humor that both kids and adults will get a kick out of.

Pure cinematic alchemy. Peter Jackson somehow managed to take a sprawling epic and make it feel both impossibly vast and immensely intimate. Every frame is meticulously crafted, packed with detail. Towering landscapes, with brilliant practical work and CGI that looks fantastic to this day. A masterful score by Howard Shore that wonderfully captures the essence of Middle Earth. Not to mention, one of the greatest casts ever assembled. What else can be said that hasn’t already been said? It’s perfect.

Crazy true story. It doesn’t quite translate into a thrilling film, but it remains familiar, opting for realism over spectacle. While it stays grounded, the lack of intensity holds it back. Probably works better as a documentary than a feature film.
