Conclave 2024
Fantastic acting. Great setting. Amazing directing. The juxtaposition of the conclave with the modern world was jarring and perfect. The church being simultaneously ancient while also being forced to reckon with a new world with new ideas was interesting. The only downside was the main plot twist was completely independent of the mysteries and clues set up and followed from the beginning. It felt like the story for the first 2/3 of the movie didn’t satisfactorily connect to the message delivered by the twist.
