    Captain America: Brave New World

    ★★½

The most two and a half stars movie I've ever seen. Basically competent with a weak script and boring story. The only thing it has going for it beyond barely clearing the bar was the Red Hulk, which they revealed in all the advertising stuff. Huge mistake.

It also suffers from only pretending to be about something. It talks around a lot of concepts but doesn't commit to anything. Captain America has no actual ideals he's defending, no superior morality.

He's a tool of the state and not worthy to hold Mjolnir.

    Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

    ★★½

It's so long. All of the "thrilling" action sequences are twice as long as they should be and it reduces the movie to a turgid slog. I don't care how real the stunts were, it was interminable.

The story is ok but man it's full of itself. The dialogue is so portentous and arch. It's written like a JRPG, and even features a character swearing to kill the new evil god.

    Pom Klementieff is extremely cool.

    A Charlie Brown Christmas

Charlie "The Cunt" Brown is a criminal who should be dragged into the town square and shot. Linus is right to yell at him.

The most imbecilic mush of idiotic bullshit ever compiled. There's nothing to say or think about it because it doesn't exist. Somehow, the entire movie is not in the movie.

It has more in common with the images created by the random neurons firing in a dying brain than anything else. You can't take any of it literally and I'm not sure you could take any of it metaphorically either.

A stunningly awful central performance by Adam Driver. I'm tempted…
