  Unintentionally bizarre folk horror hooked me with the promise of a mother/daughter doom metal band living in isolation. One of many cool concepts in hellbender that ended up kind of deformed by style choices out of a target commercial.

  The band is Izzy (young teen girl and latent vampire/witch/forest beast) and her mom (suh-MOKING hot crone/elder forest beast). The first line we hear them sing is “women / cut / women”. It sounds like a Brooklyn band on an urban…
