Another guy that loved movies so much he decided to try to make them.
Director. Writer. Blob.
One of my all timers.
I've seen this movie so many times that the flaws of the film have emulsified with the things I love. Donnie Darko is the result of a filmmaker swinging for the fences but ending up with an in the park homerun -- there is an energy to the chaos that could never be captured if they got it over the fence.
The scene I always come back to is the one with Drew Berrymore and…
This was hella impressive.
Talk all the shit you want about how your art film is better than it, but honestly, hats off to this flick and the people behind the ten years it took to get here. That was one hell of a ride, and I'm antsy like my first viewing of Empire Strikes Back for that next flick.
Blessed be the fruit.
I'm honestly just so mad I haven't seen this before.
Can I just say, every performance in this film is superb. Few times does a film circle around a group of characters and I find myself invested in all of them. This was not that. I was pulled to every single story in this film.
What a fantastic ending as well!
Where is DON MCKELLAR?!
