Despite its lack of subtlety and heavy handedness when dealing with symbolism, this is queer cinema at its best

Aimless, heavyhanded in its symbolism and full of non-sequiturs, it is nevertheless full of beautifully shot scenes, some great performances and a lot of beautiful dresses.

This raises a lot of very interesting questions on authenticity and fame. The characters are fascinating and I only wished we could have heard more of the wonderful music these men made. Highly recommended, among the best films I saw this year

Few movies have made me feel as insulted as this one. Why do films like this even exist?! Its first half is a competent, if not groundbreaking, horror film. But then it backpedals from its own premise –– oh, no, we cannot have our 'good guys' be adults killing a little girl!! –– and delivers a truckload of garbage in the second half.
