Scorsese at his finest. I mean it doesn’t get better than this, folks. In most gangster films, you expect bloody, bloody murder and vile crime, but much like Coppola before him, Scorsese decides to enter the business side of the mafia enterprise. Scorsese takes an outsider to insider and more psychological approach by focusing on a young man as he falls gracefully into the life of a mafia gangster, reaching incredible highs and incredible lows.

Duel 1971
You can see the classic Spielbergian cinematic charm, but in its infancy; it is blood-pumping action film with a psychological thriller edge, which nevertheless pushed the limits of its premise - even in its 90min runtime. You see skills that Spielberg will perfect in latter films, such as Jaws, but they are rough around the edges. That being said, even baby Spielberg is good cinema.
