I'll be honest, I didn't have very high expectations for this movie. I went in thinking it'd be your standard mock/parody film with some crass jokes.
But the only 2 films I think I laughed more while watching were Step Brothers and Airplane, and this manages to harness John C. Reilly's talents even better than Step Brothers and is also infinitely rewatchable (just like Airplane)
The songs are VERY catchy, the jokes almost always land, and the cameos are vast…

While Parasite was undoubtedly the BEST movie of 2019 and deserved Best Picture, Once Upon a Time managed to be my favorite. QT perfectly captures the nostalgia and innocence of its time period prior to the murder of Sharon Tate, except in this case with a different outcome.
Margot Robbie is wonderful as Sharon Tate and the film pays tribute to her kindness and brightness in a very respectful way (also using real footage of Sharon Tate in the Wrecking…
Iannucci does it again. Death of Stalin is a hilarious satire of the very real power struggle during the post-Stalin era of the Soviet Union. It did a great job portraying the absolute terror of life in the USSR but with Veep/The Thick of It type humor.
Fantastic performances from Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale, and especially Jason Isaacs. I was really excited for this film when I first saw the trailer and it managed to exceed my expectations
Cheesy action flick with a solid cast. I loved the concept (like the Boys meets Limitless) and was hopeful that the execution would be better. Would have liked to see more powers and a sequel still seems possible.
