  While Mr. Deeds held up and then some, this... didn't. Totally lazy Sandler performance.

  Fichtner. Nick Turturro and Michael Irvin are the only ones giving real effort here.

  I love this movie. And only partially bc it got stuck in our family’s mini van DVD player growing up.

  So much heart. So warm. Ryder and Turturro rightly deserve credit but don’t short change Sandler’s rare turn as a Pure Kind Normal Guy.

  Jessie Buckley is great, and I'm a big Charlie Kaufman fan in general, but someone has to rein him in a bit.

  Enough interesting stuff to stay engrossed, but it's hard not to roll your eyes at the extended ballet numbers or the time-shifting stuff that worked better in Synecdoche.
