  None of the large cast/small town charm of the original, the characters have are stripped of any interesting quirks to lean into and i think it looks very ugly? This was a hard watch and I had very little expectations.

  About halfway through this movie I realized the question was no longer "is this movie good?" so much as it was "is this the best movie ever made?".

  
  The best sequels use their source material less as targets (every JJ Abrams movie) and more as stepping stones (Twin Peaks the Return), and this is definitely the latter. Almost 3 hours of big new ideas interconnected with tactful, respectful callbacks to Blade Runner proper. There's a symbiotic relationship constructed here that…
