A little all over the place and some parts of it really fall flat, but other parts soar. There’s the bones of something great here, but ultimately it lands as just middling. Still an enjoyable watch

The Florida Project 2017
A beautiful movie. Defoe, always amazing, is so good in what is a much more subdued role than he normally plays. I did not vibe with the very end, but still, I didn’t hate it. I think this is a better movie than Anorra. I gave that 5 stars but I agree with Sean baker. The movie theater adds a star to almost every review, and I watched this at home. Not sure what else to say. Keep cooking Sean baker!

This was not good. It felt like a video you’ll see in a museum - a voiceover of pictures/clips, but this one was an hour and forty five minutes. The movie did not know what it wanted to be about. Was it about Cole’s art/life? Apartheid? The mystery of the 60k negatives? The movie couldn’t decide and didn’t do justice to any of them, excepting the negatives which was a not an interesting story. Had they actually learned/unearthed real information…
