Though he has made some films in-between releases I was interested to see how Bong Joon Ho would handle a Sci-Fi story after seeing his extremely grounded and reflective Oscar-Winning Parasite, and I'm glad to say that he knocked it out of the park with Mickey 17.
Having a supremely talented Main Actor like Robert Pattinson is a big help here (though Naomi Ackie is a great main character as well as his very dominant and imposing girlfriend, who shows…

After Osgood Perkins' fnatastic and suspenseful debut with Longlegs I was excited to see what he would do with some material from Stephen King.
I was surprised to see that he made what is effectively 90% slapstick comedy with a sprinkling of unnerving horror aspects.
The Film's strength lies in that very slapstick though, every death is well-executed and hilariously done, even the ones that don't actually take place.

It's become something of a ritual for me to watch thr latest installment in the V/H/S series for quite a few years now
I love a nice Anthology series, it's a great way to explore different stories through different visions & styles from different Directors & V/H/S has consistently been a pretty strong series quality-wise.
Beyond is no different, being what I would say is the strongest overall Film since '94. It's stories are mostly consistent with the theme of Aliens (though…

I'm a fan of Shudder, the Horror Streaming Service.
I've made sure to have a subscription ready for every October the last 3 Years, and I always find it has some charming, productions on it that are love letters to the genre.
This is for sure one of them.
A really fun, goofy Anthology where out of 5 parts 3 and a half of them are amazingly done loveable sketches that reference many other Films lovingly, even the main overarching plotline is a fun ride from start to finish.
3 and a half stars out of 5.
