This is my first time watching a Cassavetes and Rowlands film, and it was unlike anything I expected. Opening Night follows an actress experiencing a breakdown during a play, unable to accept the idea of aging. “Age isn’t interesting, age is depressing” she says, Rowlands performance in this film was both honest and striking.
