Wow what a cool movie!
It’s funny but invests your interest with the twists and turns that the story takes. The score is fantastic and highlights the tension so well. It can be almost syrupy at times which isn’t a bad thing rather a silly feel good one.
It’s got everything i wanted out of an M rated western flick made in the 80s, including Jeff Goldblum! There’s horses and wagons, saloons with rinky dink piano, corruption among the local…Translated from by -
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998
Johnny Depp as a cooker - makes perfect sense.
How meandering but to the point this movie is, really astounds me.
Their use of vibrant and disorienting sets combined with the breakneck tonal shifts make for a compelling watch, at least in the first half of the film. It’s got jokes and a world of neurotic, abrasive and complex characters.
I feel that the urge to ‘go forth into’ the world and ‘live while you can’ is a compelling force…Translated from by -
