  I had a cold watching this so my tear ducts were working overtime before I walked into the cinema… but I blubbed like a baby through this one. The plot wasn’t as devastating as I thought it would be, but I felt such a genuine connection to the characters that the brilliantly realistic non-chronological snapshots made me just as sad about the parts of the story that weren’t shown as the parts that were.   I can’t believe I let Martin Scorsese con me into watching a three hour movie again. I honestly would rather have eaten dry ryvita for that amount of time. It never seemed settled on one scene, always moving along with such abrupt editing.
