  On its surface, Evil Does Not Exist represents the modern condition of colonialism — corporate entities supplanting its avoiders. The glamping is a bare life form of self-care capitalism that only creates more catastrophe for the local people. What is more interesting about Evil Does Not Exist is how it expands onto this classic dynamic by providing the relationship between the cosmopolitan and the country dweller.
