in my mother's skin was crafted with such quality to make you empathize with the kind of horror and despair that the family faces. the war creates a perfect backdrop for misery as they hear the bombs explode at their deserted home, while facing horrors that weave both fairytale and evil in combined.
i think what i needed was for it to be more grounded in filipino folklore, but it was good on its own and is one of the bests that philippine cinema could offer!
