They Live 1988
This is the first John Carpenter cult movie I've seen. To tell the truth, I found it amusing and I will watch it again. The acting isn't perfect, but when you start taking the film's subject less seriously than a simple critique of capitalism, it becomes much more fun. The film very well plays on a thin line between a comedy and a psychotic delirium which is very original. The action scenes are sometimes grotesque which adds to the comic side of the film.
