  I think it's really about modernism . It reminds us that we can’t lean too far into tradition, religion, selfishness, or even complete independence, Atheist, etc (opposite of them). As civilized humans, the middle way is where we belong. On my beliefs, I think our duty as conscious beings is to strive for civility and balance in all aspects of life. This movie resonates so much with that belief. Gonna rewatch this movie fs.

  Stunningly beautiful cinematography and stark portrayal of WWI. And one of the most hard hitting anti war films of the last 10 years i guess. The characters pain and suffering in a way thats really well executed.

  Maybe this will be the best movie of the year.

  It’s three hours long, and begins rather slowly, but worth every minute as you become more and more immersed in the human drama of this masterpiece. It’s got a very deep meaning and talks about the director’s philosophy towards life, especially if you have lost some close ones.
