My late friend Lucas’s reviews on here are so smart I find myself playing keep-up like I’m reading some college-assigned essay. I feel — and I will keep this brief bc the tragic death/social media spend-points connection feels weird and bad — completely dysfunctional, trouble w sleep/work, and psychosomatically (I think) ill. Um wow what??? Not was I was expecting. Up there with his best. Ambitious, hypnotic, labyrinthine, disturbing. Has a lot of the classic Miyazaki archetypes but reworked and a whole lot that’s new. A privilege to receive the vision of someone so damn old. Wildly underrated
