Every time I rewatch Princess Mononoke, I get so pulled into this film in such a sincerely spiritual way that I can't put into words.
Every aspect of this film is presented with such a sense of care and passion, from Joe Hishashi's immaculate score to the fluid hand drawn animation.
All of these aspects are already applicable to most other Miyazaki films, but I feel that it is most potent here with Princess Mononoke.

Ironically, this movie about AI feels like it was written by an AI.
This is the single most generic sci-fi movie I've ever seen. It is just shoveling overused trope after overused trope into your gullet and expecting you to choke it down.
Somehow it is simultaneously copying James Cameron's Avatar, I Robot, and After Earth. It literally feels like they threw these movies into a blender and picked out random bullshit at random.I watched dune 2 the day…

I'm sure this movie is fine to people who aren't intricately aware of the history behind all of these bands and events, but the complete and total lack of accuracy in these events is laughable.
It's fun to laugh at with friends, and does genuinely have a few unironically funny moments, ("DEATHLIKE SILENCE! Yeah that's us.") but ultimately it is a disappointment.
Massive missed opportunity to throw in the fabled cornflake conversation. It's a shame we'll never see a good movie about these events.
