What france did to algeria was exactly the same as what israel has been doing to palestine. This was a fantastic movie about fighting for independence through armed resistance, civil unrest, solidarity among the working class, women (using frenchpassing as a method/strategy), and children for an eventual liberation!

First of all, I would like to personally thank Yandy Laurens for making a movie about caregiving and putting the caregiver front and centre as the main protagonist. Finally, after so many films I have seen that still regarded the caregivers’ struggles as an afterthought. I still have some critiques tho, especially on the aspect of ‘piety’ (berbakti, kesalehan).

    Dear David

    Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway

A powerful anti colonial movie that bravely calls out white colonialism & nationalism, systemic abuse-racism-discrimination, patriarchy, conspiracy.

A story about a mother who never holds back fighting for her rights and her children against Norway’s white nationalism & racism and India’s patriarchy. There’s also a strong element of women solidarity especially amongst immigrants and Rani Mukerji is phenomenal!

I can totally understand why this movie receives such bad reviews on RT so far. However, don't mind the suspicious number. This movie should be in conversations for best international film for this year and Mukerji should be considered for best actress in many of the upcoming awards.
