Some of this kind of works, but it's hard not to be distracted by how inconceivably retrograde this filmmaking feels. It's like the only post-1960 westerns (films?) Kevin Costner has seen are his own. Almost at all times feels like a TV pilot from 1998.

Prince and the Revolution: Live 1985
This VHS-like recording hardly counts as cinema, but this must be one of the hardest-hitting concerts ever captured on tape. The big little man himself runs, grinds, shreds, shrieks and pirouettes for two hours, only stopping for his 7 or 8 wardrobe changes. Purple Rain lasts around 16 minutes.
